Types of therapy
Hypnotherapy
The unconscious mind is where your emotions, memories, behavioural habits and intuition reside. In order to gain positive, long-term change, you must reach and affect your unconscious mind. Hypnosis allows you to tap into your unconscious mind to achieve powerful, lasting results.
Wade has trained with a variety of hypnotherapists including the late master hypnotherapist Gil Boyne in the US, who in the 1960's studied with Frederick 'Fritz' Perls, the founder of Gestalt Therapy. In his hypnotherapy work, Wade draws upon his knowledge of Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Existential Psychotherapy.
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP is a collection of applied psychology tools taken from a wide variety of sources such as Pragmatics, General Semantics, Client Centred Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Transactional Analysis and the work of Virginia Satir and Milton Erickson. Wade has also trained in TimeLine Therapy, a type of regression hypnotherapy often associated with NLP.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
EFT is based on the premise that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system. Drawing heavily from acupuncture theory, EFT works by tapping on the pressure points on certain meridians to restore the body's energy flow. EFT is simple, non-intrusive and effective.
Parts Therapy
Parts Therapy is based on the premise that our personality is made up of a number of different parts, each being aspects of our unconscious mind. We all wear different masks depending on how we're feeling, our environment and situation and the people around us.
Zen Shiatsu
This particular style of acupressure massage is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and includes the yin yang and five element theories. It works on the understanding that your energy flows through certain pathways called meridians through your body. On these meridians are certain pressure points. (If you've ever been given a dead leg or 'charlie' - you know these points!) By applying pressure to certain areas Shiatsu can help release blocked energy and restore a balanced flow within your body. Shiatsu has many health benefits including regulation of the nervous system, improving muscle tone and internal organ function by helping with the blood and lymph circulation in the body.
